How To Stay “In The Know” About Youth Events
We have many ways to communicate... too many ways probably. Our goal is to put announcements in front of our students/parents as much as possible and to post them in places where they will be most likely to see and share them.
EMAIL: “The FCSM Update”
First, we have a weekly email that goes out on Thursdays entitled “The FCSM Update.” This email is the best way to stay informed about everything student ministry related. We rely on this email to inform/remind students and parents about future events, breakfast & snack supper schedules, meeting times, and more. We also publish important details and last minute changes in these emails if necessary.
This is probably the MOST IMPORTANT RESOURCE for parents and students who want to know what is going on!
TEXTING PLAN: “@fcumcyouth”
Second, we send texts using the “Remind App.” Anyone who opts
into the sevice receives updates about student activities on their cell phone. We do not abuse this! We usually only send out one text per week. Sometimes two if there is a special event going on. To sign up download the “Remind” app and put in the class code (@fcumcyouth) OR simply text “@fcumcyouth” to this number: 81010. You should receive a short welcome message immediately and a code. The code is if you want to download the app.
WEBSITE: Student Ministry Page
Third, our church website is a source for a lot of basic information. We try to keep it current and post upcoming events but it should be thought of more as an “online brochure” for prospective visitors than a news source.
Fourth, you may find all the latest news and information through our smartphone app. This can be downloaded on both Apple and Android devices. Search “First Centenary UMC” in your devices App Store. All of the youth related news can be found under the “Ministries & Missions” page of the app.
SOCIAL MEDIA: Many Ways To Connect
Fifth, if you are into social media you may find us in many places. Including “Flickr” where you can view pictures of all of our past youth events dating all the way back to 2009.

SNAIL MAIL: The “First-Centenarian”
