Infants through Grade 1

Professional staff give infants and toddlers lots of love and attention during each of our worship services and the Sunday school hour.  Pagers are available to all parents at the time you check your child in at our Children’s Welcome Desk located on the second floor.  We follow a strict protocol for diaper changing, hand washing, and care giving. Check your child in at the second floor Nursery Area.

Two year old children are led by staff in a curriculum about God’s love designed espeially for them.  They enjoy play, stories, songs, and a chance to express themselves with age appropriate art supplies. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. in room 245.  Children may remain in room 245 until the close of the 10:45 a.m. worship services.

Children 3 years old through 1st grade participate in Godly Play.    Storytellers invite children to join the circle and hear the sacred stories of the people of God and the parables of Jesus told with simple but beautiful props.  The children travel deeper into the story and draw close to God through wonder, reflection, play, and their own unique response to the story.  The Sunday School hour begins in room 248 at 9:30 a.m. with worship through music.  Children are then led to their classrooms for Godly Play.

Grades 2 through 5

2nd through 5th Grade participate in Rotation Sunday School.   Each grade is nurtured by two adult shepherds who welcome the children into fellowship.  Each month the children experience one Bible story in four different ways by moving to a new classroom each week.  Through drama, games, cooking, art, movies and computers the children delve more deeply into the story.  The Sunday school hour ends with a time for reflection and journaling.    Over four years the curriculum leads the children through all of the major stories of the Bible.  Sunday School begins, at 9:30 a.m.  Signs outside of the Playhouse (Room 229) direct parents to the classrooms where they can drop ofrf and pick up their children.
