LENTEN STUDY - March 13, 20, 27, April 3 & 10

SIMON PETER  An ordinary fisherman who heard an extraordinary call.

He left everything to follow his teacher and possessed a passion that would change the world. That’s one way to describe Peter. Here’s another: poor, uneducated, quick-tempered, and full of doubts and fears. Doesn’t even sound like the same man.

And that’s the point of Adam Hamilton’s latest book and Bible study experience, Simon Peter. Peter was just an ordinary guy who heard and followed God’s extraordinary call. Discover how you, too, have special gifts, talents, and abilities that God can use to make a difference today.

Throughout our Lenten journey this year we will study and grow with Simon Peter from his calling on the seashore to the cross. There will be a sermon series in both the Sanctuary and The Vine that explores the life of Simon Peter and on Wednesday nights we will work through the Hamilton book.

Books are available through the church office for $15.

Dinner with reservation at 5:15 p.m.

Children's Music & Arts
Music is one of the most important ways we engage in worship. In our children’s music program we teach our youngsters a variety of ways to participate. First-Centenary children and their friends are invited to be part of one of our musical groups. The kids will be singing and also learning fundamental music skills, along with drumming and Orff instruments. Our musicians will participate in the Sanctuary and The Vine worship services throughout the school year.

Three groups are being offered:
4 year - Kindergarten – Room 237 in the Children’s Wing.
Music from 6-6:30, then supervised activity.
Children can be picked up in the children’s wing at 7 p.m..
Grades 1-2 – Room 121 (across from the choir room)
Grades 3-5 – Room 125 (Seminar Room)
Music for the elementary grades will be 6-6:40 p.m.
After rehearsal the kids go to the gym to play.
Please pick up your children in the gym by 7 p.m.
