Sometimes it is difficult to get involved in a new church. Every church has a certain way of doing things; so, if you are new, you may find yourself struggling to figure out how things work. Hopefully, the information below will help you get-to-know us and our ways!
Student Ministry Handbook
The first thing we want you to know about is our Student Ministry Handbook. It is a 52 page booklet that is published annually. It provides in-depth information about every aspect of our youth ministry. It explains who we are, who our students are, what we do, our view of student ministry, it lists our student minisry staff and volunteers, gives a description of all our annual events, student leadership information, mission projects, safety policies, communications, and it even has a full event calendar in the back.
The handbooks are available on the small table just inside the entrance to the Student Center (located in Lot#2 at the corner of Lindsay Street and Oak Street). You may also request a copy by mail here.
How to stay "in-the-know" about Youth Stuff:
In addition to this website, we have several ways of keeping parents and students informed about upcoming events.
The SHOUTING STONE Newsletter
The first and best way to stay informed about youth activities, classes, and events is to subscribe to our weekly e-newsletter. It is called "The SHOUTING STONE" and it is emailed every Thursday. This is THE MOST IMPORTANT RESOURCE for parents and students who want to know what is going on! If you would like to be added to our weekly "FCSM Update" then click here or on the image to the right.
Second, we have a texting plan where anyone who opts in to the sevice receives updates about student activities on their cell phone. We do not abuse this! We usually only send out one text per week. Sometimes two if there is a special event going on. To sign up for our "FCSM Texting Service" click here or on the image to the right. You may cancel the service at any time by simply replying "STOP."
Third, if you are into social media you may find us on Facebook by searching “First-Centenary Student Ministry” (don’t leave out the hyphen). OR you may join our Twitter feed by searching “1stCentenarySM.” We are also on Flickr, Instagram, YouTube, and Tumblr.
