Advent Wreath Creations Party
Wednesday, November 28
4 - 7 p.m., Oak Street Center
RSVP with the Church Office or
with Beth Spears (423-756-2021)
You are invited to join the First Kids as we celebrate the beginning of our Christmas festivities together as a church family! The time for our Annual Advent Wreath Making is upon us. It is a guaranteed, amazingly wonderful, exciting experience for all involved.
One sweet passerby said “it even smelled like Christmas.” (And it’s so true!) This is a FREE event to bless each house with an Advent Wreath. We will take up donations for Heifer International again this year; and we hope to bless them with an entire Ark!!
Thank you for helping us be a blessing to others as we bless you.

Join us each week as we dig a little deeper into our Advent series by exploring how these traditional Advent themes are actually gifts from God that are mean to be shared with the world.

Ornaments made by The Centenary children are in baskets outside the side door of the Sanctuary, in the Lobby of The Vine, and in the Narthex. The ornaments are for you to keep.
Each ornament lists a child’s name and two Christmas wishes. Take an ornament, write your name and the child’s name on the clip board by the basket, purchase a gift for $35 or less, wrap it, put the child’s name on the package, bring the present to the Welcome Center or the Church Office by December 10, and hang the ornament on your tree!
Your gift will be presented during our Angel Tree party. We tell the children that you don’t get this gift for being good, you get this gift because someone in the church is following the example of Christ and wants you to know that you are a child of God and they love you. Merry Christmas!

It was called The Great War. Today we know it as World War I, but at the time it was "The War to End All Wars." One hundred years ago today, in November of 1918--on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month--the armistice was signed which ended the conflict in Europe.
We will celebrate this event, and honor our Veterans in a musical program at 9:45 in the Sanctuary. Our Chancel Choir and Chancel Ringers will be joined by the McCallie Men's Ensemble and Men's Chorus (directed by James Harr).
There will NOT be an 8:30 worship service in the Sanctuary this Sunday.
You are invited to share mementos of the Veterans in your life. There will be tables set up in the Cloister. Please write the identifying information on the cards provided, and place your picture or object on the display table.
Our church is participating with other churches and organizations around the country in ringing the Bells of Peace at 11:00 a.m. If you wish to participate, download the Bells of Peace app on your cell phone. There is a countdown timer, and all bells will ring during the service!
