First Kids long

2017 Vacation Bible School

What an amazing VBS week we had at Maker Fun Factory! It was so much fun to celebrate God every day with His children! My favorite time of the day was listening to all the different ways each one of them experienced God. Whether they saw Him in the clouds, in their friend’s actions, moving through the worship music, or inside their own hearts it is incredible to hear to them say they “saw” their heavenly Father and recognized what He was doing to touch their little lives. “Watching for God” is so important!! Throughout the week our mission project focused on bringing in change for Peru, so that we can give them the gift of clean drinking water by helping to pay for wells within their community. Amazingly these kiddos blessed Peru by bringing in their piggy banks and completely emptying them into our toolbox, raising over $222!

Thank you to EVERYONE who made this VBS possible by volunteering! Whether you helped front and center or behind the scenes, this amazing week would not have been possible without you! Thank you for helping us share God’s love with these 108 children! God is moving in and around your First Kids of First-Centenary UMC!

Showing children a little piece of the Kingdom of God is the goal of every Children's Ministry staff member and volunteer at First-Centenary. Sunday School, celebrations of the church year, special events, and summer programs all strive to embrace the creativity and wonder of children and open new doors of exploration and thought.  Each child is a beautiful and unique creation and within our programs we strive to provide many different ways for your child to grow closer to God.  Come join us as together we learn and grow on this great journey!

Mom’s Connection Group, led by Vanessa McDaniel, is a wonderful way to start out the week!

Have words you said (or texted or commented) ever caused an uproar? Do you ever find you self gossiping "innocently" to your friend? Have you ever found yourself the subject of gossip? The average women speaks over 20,000 a day—not to mention the ones she types online. They have a lot of power. Join our Moms Connection Group this spring as we discuss these issues using "Keep It Shut" a 6-session study by Karen Ehman. Please join us on Monday mornings from 9:30 to 11, beginning January 23. Nursery provided. For more details, please reply back to Beth Spears.
