Last Fall Ralph Mohney came to me with a request. He informed me that he was celebrating his 90th birthday on May 20 and asked if he could preach in the Nave on a Sunday morning. I was delighted to say yes to his request, and we set May 18 at 10:45 a.m. as the date. As the time has drawn near, a full celebration has developed for the day. I am thrilled that the church could be part of such a significant event.
Dr. Mohney has invested so much of himself into the life of First-Centenary and into Chattanooga. He has been a spiritual giant who has influenced many here for the sake of Jesus Christ. The health and vitality of our congregation owes much to Dr. Mohney not only for what he has done in the past but what he is doing now.
Few congregations are able to celebrate such a significant event as we will celebrate on May 18 as we honor Dr. Ralph Mohney and the glorified God who called and gifted him for ministry.
